The bite seems to have slowed down the last few weekends IMO, but it changes from day to day and spot to spot. My best luck lately has been in 30+ FOW. Fatheads and rainbows have been working the best, although they havent seemed to like one over the other. 95% of my fish lately have been hitting the dead stick with a plain red hook. Red or perch color seems to work the best for jigging. Good luck let me know how you do.

thanks for the info. do you know the conditions of the roads/bridges? ive always hated going across the bridges on that lake, any sizeable cracks that need to be avoided?

Our best bite for eyes has been very early and very late with the perch during the day. Rainbows on tip ups away from the house will produce eyes and perch.  Bring jigging rod with when flag goes up and if its a perch on the tipup drop your jigging line down and catch any other perch before they leave the area.  Great way to double up.  Plain red hooks work the best and the hot perch and red stop signs have worked best for us.  Plenty of ice last week 24 inches plus.  Pay your 10 bucks to the resorts and use their roads and bridges is the best way to be safe.

We have been hitting 8 mile flat and shermans flat.  the eye have mostly been on or at the bottom of the drops and the perch have been off of the flat anywheres from 20 to 100 yards.  Hole hop and look for active fish.

well if the weather co-operates i plan on hole hopping all day long. but if its cold and windy, i may be less inclined to move  :cold:  i heard that shermans been on the rise lately, i always pay that 10 bucks, way easier, plus they are usually more inclined in pointing you in the right direction and letting you know what has been working. we plan on being on the lake super early.

so a good starting point would be 30 FOW?

Was out today.  Went out through twin pines, I had two handicapped guys with me and twin pines treated us like kings.  We rented a day house from them, the heat was on, the holes drilled.  The young lady working there brought out the best tasting bacon cheesburgers you have ever had to us at dinner time.  We only had one fish on the line but the guys enjoyed there time out there!!  We were fishing in 30 feet.  The roads were very good along with a very nice bridge.  The guys said they want to do that again next year.

To bad its valentines day tommorrow and my wifes b-day on friday or I would go with you Cody.

Yesterday I was up there with my buddy and he iced this 40 inch pike on a stop sign.  We had a mixed bag of tulies, perch, pike and eyes.  Marked lots of fish but they were pretty neutral and we had to work to get them to bite.

Well I'm on the big pond right now. Out of North Star. I've pounded close to 40 holes through the ice. Anywhere from 24 to 33fow so far. Marked a couple in 32fow so that's where I'm set-up for the Time being. Just one bump so far...kinda slow.. Having a difficult time even finding the fish. Think I might navigate out towards busters flat after lunch

Good luck and keep at it.  I hope you have a lighter with MNO ice on it.  You have been officially added to a team in the ice challenge.  Better late than never.

Good luck.  If it is sunny like it here in the cities it could make for a tough bite from my experiance.  Bite should pick up near dark closer to the flat.  Watch for tulies way up off of the bottom.
