The fishing is excellent all over the lake.  Key spots this past week are both gaps, Pine Island, Knight and Bridges, Archies Reef, Arnesens Reef and Garden Island.  Walleyes are being caught from 5 ft of water with a wind swept shoreline to 30 feet on main lake basin.  Good numbers and big fish are the norm.  Jigging, spinners and pulling cranks effective.  Colors, gold, glow and orange.  Fishing is on fire right now.

Smallmouth bass are in the shallows.  Good numbers coming form the Rainy River.  Tapering shorelines with bolders or incoming rivers have been key.

Up at the NW Angle.  Excellent fishing continues.  As on south shore, limits of walleyes the norm.  15 - 25 feet of water, jigging, spinners and cranks.  Walleyes starting to move to reefs.  Smallmouth bass in shallows.  Target by casting shallow diving cranks.  Big pike being caught by walleye and bass anglers.  Muskie season is open in Ontario waters.  50+ inch fish were caught this weekend.
