Not much has changed since my last report. Fishing all up and down the river is excellent especially for numbers but on Oahe some days you can struggle with size as the lake is full of 13 to 14 inch year class walleye. Sharpe is excellent for over 15 inch fish and real good numbers of big smallmouth bass. I guided repeat customer's Jim and Mary Rey for one day on Oahe and one day on Sharpe with the highlight of the trip a 22 lb. northern pike Jim caught. We also got limits of fish for them to take home on Sharpe. Had a great time with them as usual. I then helped guide the BPI group of 93 guys out of the outpost taking limits if 32 fish daily on Oahe plus some northern and smallmouth as bonus fish. We caught most of these fish in around 20 fow on bouncer/nightcrawler or Berkeley gulp pumpkinseed fry's. Once again I will pass on a couple of tips if you are coming over. A self contained NiCad battery powered electric knife or a butcher filet knife are good investments as fish cleaning stations can be busy and electric plug in's are limited so a wait in line can be avoided if you have one of the above. Also fly's are out so some good fly spray in your boat helps. I use Bronco horse stable spray.
