Having an outstanding year for skeeters/mayflies and black flies! With the very late spring here and an expansion to the main garden stuff didn't get put in the ground here till mid June. I was lucky enough to have a good year in the greenhouse so tomatoes and pepper plants were good sized when planted. I have several more peppers and cherry tomato plants that are growing in containers and when fall comes they will go back into the green house.

I have about a 150' of potatoes that are looking good and with a decent fall I am hoping for a good crop. Raspberry and my apple trees never blossom this spring so no apple pies from the home trees this year. Carrots and radishes are doing good if I can keep the grand kids away from them!

Hey Bobby..... havent ever done the greenhouse to get that jump on our short growing season, but after my late plantings this year ive been milling it over all summer..... Tomatoes cukes and peppers all doing well considering theyve been in the dirt and under my watch for less than two months.....  :reporter;  had two entire cuke plants dissapear over night.... (racoons? :taz:) Yeah, bobby's mato plant does look rather strong shouldered.... my Miracle Grow enhanced matos look nice and tall/healthy, but Bobby's........ may have to look into TGH (Tomato Growth Hormones) enhancement after effects and such..... :rotflmao:  Any ways..... kinda like the new section.... always lookin for new ideas/(good) advice whatever the subject..... All I know is the ole misquito coils have been saving my blood BIG TIME this year..... couldnt get done half of the yard/gardening without em! They work very well.... & no need for DEET coating on everthing..... :happy1:

try putting Epsom salt down by the roots of the tomato plants once the plant starts producing tomatoes. supposedly the minerals in the Epsom salt is really good for maters. I tried this last year and I had some really nice maters. do this about every 4th watering!!!!!!!!!!!

Don't know what this does to the tomatoes, but I'm sure it's good for the plants feet, er roots. :rotflmao:

Finally got some rain yesterday, after the last two weeks of storms dropping everywhere but here we got enough water to fill the rain barrels and make the garden wet. I can almost see my radishes grow !

I think that might be "Powder Mildew " if ya catch it early you can just nip off the bad leaves otherwise you will need to treat the plant, it will spread. When I get something like that I just toss the leaves in the fire pit. Your local garden center should carry something to treat the plant with if you don't mind using chemical warfare.
