The bay ice is here to stay! Boat fishing has almost come to halt for the year as most the bays and accesses are being iced in. Zippel Bay and Bostic Bay have 3.5 inches and the ice continues to form in four mile bay to the Gap.  It won't be long, perhaps that next cold snap.  Ice fishing often begins around Dec. 6th, give or take based on weather.  Work through resorts and stay on their marked trails for safety.

The Rainy River is still open. Try the airport, Baudette Bay, Clementson and to the Vidas landing.  Limits are being caught in 17-21 feet of water anchoring and jigging with a minnow.

Up at the NW Angle, the inlet has frozen over to about 3-4 inches. Still no ice on Young's Bay, but boat fishing is basically over for the season. Get ready for the ice fishing season with daily reports on the Lake of the Woods Tourism Facebook site.  www.facebook.com/LakeoftheWoodsMN.  Freeze baby, freeze!
