i saw 3 does tonight followed by a little 6 pointer. they were feeding in the cut corn all night, looked like he was interested but any time he got close enough the does would scatter. im hunting around a hay/corn field surrounded by timber and i know theres a 9 point that likes to hangout near by; weve caught him on camera several times; our latest sighting at 3am right under my stand, we havent seen him since. how much of an area do you think hes covering daily at this stage of the rut and whats a way i can up my chances of tagging him this year? do you think its based on me putting in hours and getting lucky? appreciate the help

It's hard to say how big of area he will cover during the rut sometimes they will stay close and sometimes they will cover a lot of ground I would say the more time you can spend on stand the better chance you have at seeing him during daylight hours but it might not hurt to try some grunting or maybe a little rattling but I would make sure to hunt the wind and use some etrous sent maybe it will get him fired up and within bow range with the cold temps try and find the best food source he will be looking for a bite to eat sooner or later good luck hope you get him on the ground  :happy1:
Hunting is not life and death. It is more important than that.
