    EAST SIDE!!  I don't know about the campground situation. I will drive up for the day.  1 hr from the cabin.   Federal dam is ok if you are camping I think.  I will be going out of the battle point access.  You have a lot less boat travel to some nice spring fishing areas.  Sugar point, battle point, and Bear Island.  It's a big lake and with a wind it can get rocking so unless you have a big boat you must take into account the possibility of a west wind making it a rough ride. (great fishing though)  I used to think on a calm day you can go anywhere.   Conditions can change quickly.  That's just something to keep in mind.
