What does everybody use for braided line that they like? I have been using 10 or 15 lb. Power Pro. I'm looking for something that casts a little better. What do you guys use that you like?

I've had good luck with the suffix 832 on my backlash master.  Fireline on everything else.

I don't know what the problem was last year but everytime I had a big fish on last year the line broke on my 15lb. PowerPro. Knot? Bad spool? Not sure but I am looking for something different this year.

FAWK I had the same issue last year with spiderwire, It came down to how I was tieing my knots, certain knots wont hold using braided and it slips(comes untied). I switched back to normal line. easier to deal with in my opinion

hey thats right, how u tie knots is the secret, all this power line is really slippery, I use a standard fishermans knot an add several more twists than mono but i tie on quick snaps, the the tail end if the line after the knot i take a lighter an burn the end so a mushroom stop happens an it wont slip thru.

Some of the super-lines will also cut themselves oat the knot.  Palomar is the best knot to avoid these problems.

If these were all Northn's tie on a 80lb flurocarbon 12-16" leader..problem fixed.

Nope lots of bass too, and I don't think the pike were bite offs.

Sounds like knot slipped knots.  I had trouble with spider-wire before I changed knots.  The line would cut it self.  It would happen on the hook set.  Boom everything is gone.  Switched to the palomar and the problem was solved.   These lines need a backing on your spool too.  Either mono or a little electrical tape on the spool to keep all the whole mass of line from spinning around your spool.

I have had good luck with the Sufix 832 braid and I use a palamar knot to tie it   i used to use power pro on a few rods and had a lot of bad luck with it breaking expecialy on hook sets and it was not cutting its self or coming untied because some times you could see it break above the water level even and in the last two years i have not had a problem with the Sufix and that is in line sizes from 15 to 80 lb test

20# Moss Green Power Pro except 50# for buzzbait rod. Chasing Norton's in the lily pad fields. I tie an improved cinch knot except I go through the eye let twice, Picked the trick up from another fishermen and it is simple, quick and I don't get any breakoffs.
