Reel in the walleyes this week as slot and trophy fish are dominating the bite, with good limits to take home. From Long Point, Zippel Bay, or Graceton Beach try 16-20 or 32 feet jigging. Drift with crawler harnesses in the afternoon. Morris Point and Pine Island doing well jigging 25-30. Good reports heading north to the sand bars of Little Oak, West Bar, and Bridges pulling hammered gold spinners with crawler, leech, or minnow. Gold, pink, orange the hot colors this week.

On the Rainy River, walleye biting on jigs close to shore and off docks. Try 15-18 feet with bright colors.

Up at  the NW Angle, anglers jigging gold and orange jigs and pulling harnesses in 20-30 feet with great success. Pike and bass in weed beds and shore lines. Muskie opener had a strong start casting spoons and spinners over weed beds. Many big fish caught and released.  Fishing continues to be hot.  More info at www.LakeoftheWoodsMN.com.
