Got home Monday from my bachelor party up at lake of the woods.

I booked a two day trip through Ryan Donat at Bayview Lodge. I rented a day house this past winter from him and the service I received, how his houses looked made me want to see what the cabins looked liked when I settled up with him. Easy decision to book with him for my bachelor party.

We got up there late Friday night and he was still up waiting to figure out the plan, he wanted to be up early Saturday am to make the run to the islands. I also have a great friend, who is a groomsman in my wedding who works for Ballards, I was fortunate enough to have him drive the other boat for two days as well.

I wanted to do something fun for the party, so I made everyone pick up snoopy/iron man/Barbie/Spider-Man/cars fishing rods and the deal was to fish with them, obviously with a wager for big fish.

When we arrived at the islands, fishing was non stop! We did a shore lunch, which is a must do out on the islands. Then went back out fishing. Jig and a frozen shiner and set the world on fire. Day started out great with me setting the hook on a fish, losing the grip on the rod and it going into the lake, somehow I went over the back of the boat and got it and the fish back.

Sunday we decided to sleep in and fish out around pine, fishing was just as good if not better in worse conditions. Many more slot fish, seemed like every other fish was 23-25 inches and they are a helluva fun time on 2 ft $15 rods might I add!

All in all, we ate good, caught a ton of fish, ate a ton of fish. Came home with 11 limits of walleyes and saucers and had an absolute blast.

I can't wait to get back up there this fall, he is adding 12 more brand new houses to his fleet this winter as well.

So thank you Kyle who works for Ballards mainly, and Ryan for driving boat, highly recommend either one of them if your looking for a great charter boat experience. The guys are talking about this being an annual trip now!

And for the contest, a 25 won it on day one and a 27.75 won it on day two for those wondering!

I have had nothing but great experiences with BVL and Ryan and would highly recommend the resort to anyone. It's nice and quiet, not too far from night life if you want to go out but relaxing if you want to stay in. Can catch smallies and pike right off the dock, last week a 40+ Was caught off his dock.

I'd also like to give a shout out to Wiggles, thanks for the drive by! The guys enjoyed the view!  :-D  :-D

That sure beats the standard bus bar hop trip.

Looks like an awesome trip!  That's a heck of any idea to use the child poles too - Im sure it takes some skill getting them in on those things.
