I hunted Southwestern MN this past week and after many hours in the snow and cold, decided venison sausage in the freezer would be better than waiting for big antlers.  I told myself that the next legal buck to come into range would be good enough regardless of rack size.  Shortly thereafter I noticed what I thought was a doe in a picked corn field heading toward the tree line I was in.  The deer reached the tree line and stopped behind a tree, where it stayed for several minutes.  I still believed it to be a doe, but removed my gloves just in case there were small antlers, not yet visible.  Finally the deer made a move and I was able to identify that it was a small fork horn buck.  I made a clean shot and dropped the buck in it's tracks.  The real surprise was when I walked up on the downed deer to discover I had shot a piebald deer.  All four legs were white from the knees down with white hooves and a large white patch on the chest.  I never thought I would ever see a piebald let alone tag one.

Not a great picture as I was by myself and it was after dark when I got back to my truck.

that is cool... now what? almost seems like a shame to dump it in the donate bin? suppose a guy could get it tanned? I don't know.
