im still in search of my first muskie, but im at it now, way more dedicated then before. last week I went out to lake independence and casted for a good 5 hours. I used everything I had. but the most action I had was on my suick. I had 7 follows. I did big figure 8's at the end of each retrieve as well. gets a little frusterating after awhile. the biggest had to be mid to high 40's. still exciting though. lets hear what everyone else likes to turn too, to get them to hit when all else is failing

Cody bad bug to be bitten by! ;)  But its a good illness!  If I had only 3 or 4 lures to muskie fish with they would be in this order..

1) Poe's Giant Jackpot (Blacktop/silver bottom)
2) Fundally's Muskie Candy (Copperblade/brown skirt)
3) Muskie Mayhem Showgirl double blade in Black and silver blade.
4) Weighted Suick thriller 9" in sucker color.

Downsize in early season with the Muskie Candy....but its getting late enough for topwater time!!

Forgot to mention caught my first legal muskie on a Sucker rig....that was 50 years ago though, but still works!

Use a hand tied leader of 100b seagur fluorocarbon.

If you have a reel to do it ( Shimano Tranx HG) since you are young... burn a double cowgirl right under the surface..

Double cow bell, charturse  (spelling?) and white. Throw it until I can't anymore and then I drop to a smaller red and black single spinner. The fellow to the left was caught on a sucker rig the day before Thanksgiving 2013. 53" long. Caugth a 50.50" eight days prior to that on a sucker rig also.

Bought a perch colored shallow raider. I'm gonna fish it on lake independence heavily when I get on the water.  Hopefully I can get one today. Getting to the lake a little late this morning
