The Rainy River continues to produce good numbers of sturgeon this week. Anglers have had good success at 4 Mile Bay, Wheeler's Point, the International Bridge, and Clementson Rapids. Many boats are spread in between fishing their favorite sturgeon holes as well. A 4/0 or 5/0 circle hook with a gob of crawlers has been best with a 1-3 oz of weight. Fish the edges of deeper holes.  Catch and release through April 23rd.  Keep one season opens April 24th - May 7th.  May 8 - 15, catch and release only.

Pike season is open all year and there are good reports of 40+ inchers coming out of Zippel Bay, Bostic Bay, and 4 Mile bay. Use a treble hook with a spinner blade and a dead cisco under a bobber. Try a couple of feet off of the bottom and actually laying the bait right on the bottom.  Walleye season opens again May 9th.  For info on lodging, maps and more, go to www.LakeoftheWoodsMN.com
