Out in the field

[The General]

My dad and I went out to south Dakota this past week and had a great time pheasant hunting.   We had to work to get our birds but managed to get some to flush in gun range.   Hunting in 50mph wins on Thursday made it even more difficult.

[The General]

Here is a video of my shorthair working a bird.  The wind is blowing from right to left and at first you see him off in a distance but I can tell what he is doing.  Right towards the end of the video you will see him get the scent out of the air with his nose up and I needed to put the camera down

[The General]

I actually enjoy watching the dog more than anything.  My dad has a daughter from my dog.  She is really coming into her own.  Man can she bull her way through the cattails.  Her only problem yet is sometimes when she gets on a trail you need to have your track shoes on.  But she is learning to stay within  gun range quite nicely.
