I always check the fish gut buckets before I go out.  They don't lie.  It looks like a couple more walleye than crappie are being caught right now.  The majority of the houses are in close.  8-10 feet of water.   I've been rewarded with some crappies the last couple of times in 13 fow and 2.5 miles out.

I had every intention of searching for crappie, but the warm fish house distracted me, and I was a little hungry.  It did not take long to catch a limit.

The walleye were biting on the rattle wheels.  Pink and red lures.  My last sucker minnow  from the weekend even got one.

I would start to pack the extension if you are planning a trip soon.

We are getting a little more snow, but not enough to leave the cleates home quite yet.

The pressure ridges are still moving all day.   The accesses are starting to assemble a second bridge, so they have a crossing while they are repositioning bridges. Use  caution when crossing the bridges  Don't try to play Dukes of Hazzard over the pressure ridge.  I have a buddy who's dog told him to go just  go over the ridge.  Let's just say his dog is dumb.
