Just wondering if anyone happens to know the story on these fish pictures. I got them in my e-mail and was wondering if anyone has got them. Story I heard was they are the same fish but look close at the pics and tell me what you think.

Hi Griz
I've seen both of these pictures before and several years apart from each other. I don't believe they are related.  In fact the first one I put on my website and of course embellished it a bit. I also received the photo from a couple different people and each had a different story to go with it.

The second picture circulated I think last spring or summer and was talked about quite a bit. I think the first story I heard associated with it was that the fish came from Rainy Lake or Lake of the Woods. The consensus seemed to be that in fact the picture is probably from Europe. The pike get bigger there and that is one monster pike. I heard one story that guessed it was probably Holland based on the flat landscape and short trees in the background and type of boat and the other guessing that it was further north - closer to the arctic circle - maybe even Russia.

That's what I remember and it's unusual for me to remember that much.

Gents,...... & ladies too :)
I don't care where that fish is, or came from ...... That is one MONSTER of a pike no matter what neck of the woods your from.  I grew up in Baudette, as a fishing guide on LOW.  I also knew the Canadian commercial fisherman and saw what they would catch, Never seen a  Pike that F**ing' big!  That give me a chubby just thinking bout hooking into a brute like that.  I would hope if I was prone to heart problems, that I would have an attack then and there!  Cause you might as well quit fishing ( not really :)), you could fish til your a hundred and would probably never get anther one even close to that.  WOW!
That's gonna leave a mark!

The pics are not related. The Pike pictured comes from across seas. It was caught somewhere like Belgium..Northern Europe....I can't remember where. That same guy is on the cover of a recent Muskie Magazine. Can't remember the name of the magazine but the article was about fishing over in those parts. The pike get huge there.
