                  Sophia’s Law.

 :reporter; ..
Bills proposing “Sophia’s Law,” which would require carbon monoxide detection systems on certain boats, are progressing in both the House (HF3310) and Senate (SF2678). Sophia’s Law would be named for Sophia Baechler, who died in 2015 from accidental carbon monoxide poisoning on a boat.

The bill was heard in both chambers on Wednesday, by the House Environment and Natural Resources Policy and Finance Committee and the Senate Natural Resources, Economic Development, and Agricultural Budget Division of the Finance Committee. Links to documents in support of this bill are available on the Senate Committee’s meeting website.
