Four Seasons Fishing Report September 5, 2016
Perch fest 2016 took place this week. The perch were biting this week very close to the resort. Limits of very nice perch were the norm for those who chose to go after them. Jigs and fatheads in 5-10' of water just outside the River Mouth was all there was to it. Didn't do much for gas sales this week, but there were a lot of happy campers.
Walleye fishing was hampered by a strong south wind that occupied half of the week. Some walleyes were caught earlier in the week on the weed flats trolling spinners and crankbaits. The jig and minnow program did not do the trick for the walleyes this week.
Northerns continue to be strong. All forms of fishing for pike are working. Casting, trolling, and fishing with sucker minnows, all are doing the job.
As the water cools, I look for the jig bite to get better for the walleyes. All other species should continue to be good. Our fall discount has kicked in. All cabin reservations are 20% off the remainder of the season. We will be open through the first full weekend in October. Give us a call and get in on the action. - Joe Thompson, Four Seasons Resort 218-665-2231
