For those who might happen to be in St Paul, we had an hour to kill and wanted to get something to eat so Son took us to  Pho Ca Dao on University Ave.   Looked like a dump inside and out, but the soup (they only sell pho and egg rolls) was great.  7 bucks for the large bowl, if you pick the meat.  Also traditional and deluxe.

Meat choices, steak, fatty brisket, tripe, and a couple others I can't remember.  Chicken and meatballs 75cents extra.  You get to pick 3 for the basic build your own.

Only take cash.
Soup comes with a platter of Thai Basil, bean sprouts, limes, some other green stuff.

Right in the heart of Asian district, near dale and university.   Right on the light rail green line.

We didn't get a chance to go the hmong market which is said to be great.

Being you love spring rolls, you'll flip for hers. My friend loves them, and she said they're the best she's ever had, and she eats that food a lot. I don't care for them. I love the egg rolls, crab rangoon, and spicy chicken wings.  Chau and her family do a superb job with the restaurant. They used to own the place on 7th St NW, couple doors east of the schwinn shop...I forgot the name. Was the little corner place with just a few tables.....
