My happy place

Had a relaxing weekend. Woke up very early and hit the lake.  I like the smoke on the water.  Paddled across the lake to the area with lots of wood next to deep water.  Big bass live there and a giant bit, fought hard, jumped several times and spit the hook.  I did catch about a dozen 2 to 4 pounders.  When the sun hit the tops of the trees the bite cooled off.  Headed in and took a hike and looked and found the seasons 1st chantrelles of the year.  Grilled some meat and taters.  Took a midday nap. Went fishing with the parents and managed 7 small pike.  Fried up fish for supper and headed to a tiny lake to close out the day.  The small bass were on FIRE. Caught over 50 bass in 90 minutes.  I tried to leave sooner but I told myself I would quit after a cast didn't get bit.  It took 19 casts.  Biggest was 2 pounds.  I kept 6 one pounders for the neighbor.  He was very happy.  I keep my limit of small fish everytime I go to this lake.   Best day I've had fishing in a long time.

It also has a large beaver lodge.  They slapped their tails at me and also came over for a close look a couple of times.
