Sanctuary Churches?

What are your views on this? We now have two in CAWchester, that state they will house immigrants. The law states:

The Immigration and Nationality Act prohibits anyone from knowingly harboring an undocumented immigrant "in any place, including any building." Those convicted of doing so risk years in prison.

I say they are breaking the law....and they know it. Churches are NOT a safe haven...are illegal immigrants safe there?

No, says Stephen Yale-Loehr, who teaches immigration law at Cornell Law School.
Officials with a warrant can arrest undocumented immigrants regardless of whether they're at a house of worship like a church, synagogue or mosque.

My opinion is it's making the problem worse, exhausting resources, and just plain breaking the law. So why are they doing it?  What do you think?

We've now had three restaurants closed down in CAWchester, by ICE, because they were employing/were all illegals. Also two had fake tax reporting/records. That, mixed with bringing in all this "diversity" they cram down our throats daily, has honestly created a lot of problems that are starting to snowball in this town. Lack of housing, unemployment, etc. I've seen it first hand. The churches doing their "sanctuary" thing will just make it worse.  Just telling it like it is...

Total BS,NO EXCEPTIONS,Makes my skin crawl when I listen to these young out to lunch kids working for the luthern church welcoming all these  mideast POS into our country,"No sanctuary churches or cities" period.

I was born here and so were my parents and grandparents.  We all worked our asses off and never got anything free so why should someone who isn't even supposed to be here get free stuff.

UPDATE: Another church in CAWchester has announced it is a "sanctuary." That makes FOUR here.  Including those, that brings the number to 51 in Minnesota, the most of any of the fifty states. Watch for more to jump on the bandwagon in this town. We're already deep into it.......

Tip: "Sanctuary" is not a legal term observed or followed by law.

I'm going to open an ICE office in my house and go back in uniform.
