Reb's sent me an email asking me to let you know that he may not be on for a few days. The said Olmsted county called him. Something happened with his mom. I guess he didn't tell me exactly what, but if I read between the lines she passed. I hope I don't read between the lines well.

Whatever it is Reb like you told me I'm here for ya!

She didn't pass, but has some major sudden Alzheimer issues. The hotshot  piece of garbage she married, that's kept me away from her the last couple of years (I haven't seen her in two years, he shut their phone off, etc, I thought she wanted nothing to do with me...that's what was tearing me up on Christmas) he's as bad as her. He hasn't paid any bills, phones been shut off, they were wandering around  in a bank confused (that's who called the cops and social services) Looks like he's blown all their money on his stuff. Now Olmsted County is stepping in to take over, and needs her doctor to sign some things to have someone (me) take over as conservator. And the MAYO doc is on vacation for two weeks...   Hell, I can't take care of myself some days. But, right now she's safe, and I'll get to see her for the first time in two years. She told social services we just spent Christmas together, and sees me all the time..that tore me up big time. Well, maybe now it will be true.
Life can be so damned cruel at times.

Thanks, Deadeye. No one else to help me...I'm the only one there is. Dammit.  Reaching out to my cousin to help. She's in with me all the way, thank god.

I am glad that I checked in tonight.  Rebs you are in my prayers and my wife likes to hear about my friends on here so you and your mother will be in her prayers too.  We are not overly religious but are spiritual people.  It never hurts to say a prayer, no matter what we believe in.  Take care of yourself too Rebs.  That is very important...

Well, I guess when it rains it pours.  While updating here, my wife's brother called to let her know her aunt died this afternoon.  She was the last remaining aunt my wife had.  We were never really close, but usually saw her a once or twice a year.  Last time was six months ago at her husbands funeral.

 Boy, it sure does pour. Thanks guys, I need all the shoulders I can lean on right now. Was just dealing with some more physical stuff, now this added to it...... I just want the best for my Mom, and I don't have much, but I'll give all I got for her, even though we weren't super close. She's my Mom.

Rebs just stay calm and think of good things that happened between you all.  And DE you too.  We are all brothers here and we all will think nothing but good thoughts for all of you.  It has been quite intense for some of you guys the last few days so take care of yourselves as that is the most important thing you can do.....

O ya, DE...sorry to hear about your wife's aunt. I lost my last aunt and uncle last year. Gettin' real tired of this stuff...it's taken it's toll, I can tell ya.

Sorry to hear about all the recent bad news you've gotten hit with. Life can sure be a real bummer at times. When things are running along smoothly it great. Then all of a sudden the crap hits da fan and it's like one bad thing after another.

 I'm sure your head is spinning right now with all instant pressures just added to your life. There are a lot of options out there to look at as far as health and human services. Try to check um all out to take advantage of them. You need to try to lighten the load on yourself with any help you can muster up from those outside agencies. We all wish you and mom the best Reb.

Rebs, I am so sorry that I'm just learning of this.  It's been said that the Good Lord doesn't put more on us than we can handle, but it sure seems like you're getting dumped on here sir.  If there's anything Cathy and I can do, please don't hesitate to get in touch.  I can take some time off work if necessary to do whatever I can to help out.  Are you in the Twin Cities area?  We'd be happy to put together a few meals you could easily heat up and drop them off, or whatever else we could do to help.  We wish you all the best, and of course, send our prayers your way sir.  Contact me any time if I can be of assistance.

Thanks so very much guys. Didn't sleep much last night; not looking forward to today. Doing the best I can, but right now it isn't working so hot. Living alone is a big minus in situations like this. Hopefully something will help today once I get things rolling. I just feel that I lost a year and a half of my Mom's life, when I couldn't see her, and now her minds in bad shape and not coming back. At least now I'll be able to see her and be with her. Suddenly the Alzheimer's jokes don't seem so funny anymore.
