I do follow it some and the Gophers weren't a shoo in until they beat Northwestern on the road and Purdue the first time. Picking up the 2 wins in the tournament especially beating Purdue the 2nd time only gave them a higher seed altho I would've guessed them to be an 8 or a 9 and not a 10 seed. They had enough quality wins that they were tough to keep out of the tournament. Will they get anywhere? Unlikely but neither will a lot of other Big 10 teams, among them IA, WI, Purdue, Ohio St. and probably Maryland. All of them exposed their Achilles heels in the Big 10 tournament which should make them easy pickings by the 2nd round if not one and done. And some clowns were thinking IN should've got in? Give me a break!

The Gophers are a dangerous team that can play D pretty well but everything has to click on offense including fast break points and their outside shooting in order for them to win. Their bench is basically nonexistent with Curry done for the year and Stockman undergoing concussion protocol. Not his first concussion either so they'll likely be extra cautious.  A Friday game would've been better to give him one more day to recover. Not having a point guard after Marcus Carr was shafted by the NCAA really crippled this team yet they still managed to win over 20 games. They're 6 - 1 in neutral site games and the game being played in Des Moines will allow some fan support. They could pick off Looavul, but they still will have no chance if they do against Michigan St.

The guy I feel bad for is Murphy. He hung in there through last year's debacle, never bitched or whined, durable, always answered the bell. He was just a beast against Purdue and they'll miss his toughness next year. I just wish he would've flattened Brad Davison when he tried to trip him coming down on that rebound. But he didn't. Too much class for that. Definitely should have his jersey hung from the rafters.

Dotch nailed it on Murphy, the best they've had in a long time & a class act. Coffee is too inconsistent, especially his outside shot & without a big game from him they don't have much of chance IMO. Personally I wouldn't be totally surprised to see Purdue and/or Wisconsin win their 1st round games. I follow this closely too glenn, men's college bball is 1 of my favorite sports. Used to fill out a few sheets as there's generally a few pools goin down home.

Agree on Coffey. Some nights he seems disinterested for lack of a better term. Some nights he's absolutely amazing. Just depends on which one shows up. And he needs to keep his emotions under control. Controlled fire:good. Out of control fire:bad. See Jordan Murphy comments.  :azn:

I used to fill out several pools worth but I found myself getting absolutely nothing done, or at least less than I do now so I gave that up.  :rotflmao: If Carsen Edwards is healthy or healthier than he was when the Gophers beat them, they should beat ODU. I think Bucky is ripe for an upset however. If Oregon can shut down Happ and put the pressure on their perimeter shooters who are streaky, congratulations, you've just beaten Wisconsin. Frankly I was less than impressed with the Badgers this season. Overrated and can't stand Brad "Let me hit you in the balls cuz I'm yer Buddy" Davison.  :bs:

You got that right about Coffee loosin his . Oregon is a good team & playin well too, I'm just kind of surprised  at how bad they (UW), especially Happ, played the last couple games & think they'll turn it around. At least for 1 game, know what ya mean about Davison too. :tut:  I always pull for the BIG 10 teams & am usually disappointed. :bonk: I do think Ia St. has a good chance to make a run the way the played in their tournament.
