I had an idea the other day and I wanted to share. I am going to contact the VA reps for both StLouis and Douglas counties and inquire about troops returning from Iraq and Afganistan that are wounded or in rehab that may want to go fishin. I am going to offer my boat and myself to take them. I was hoping to get a "data base" of others willing to provide an empty boat seat to these recent heros. If your not from my area, maybe we can all band together and cover several counties.

Any of you interested please contact me.

fishaholic, sounds like an assume idea! i have helped out with the va vet deer hunt a few times.i cant wait to do it again. these events are great for returning troops. the smiles on their faces make every minute worth it. also some great stories to be made and told. i beleive they have had a few fishing trips also. the DAV and the st .cloud va has run them. they could be a starting point for help and info on getting your fishing started. after all, with out freedom we could not enjoy the outdoors like we do.

I have contacted the VA Reps for Douglas County WI and St Louis county MN. If you do a search for "____ county, MN Veterans Administration" you should be able to find the rep for your county.

I am hoping to set this up as a GTG/ support the troops - day of fishing.
