PITTSFIELD, Mass. -- Shortly before 2 p.m., Pittsfield Police, Fire and EMS workers responded to a call for a person through the ice on Pontoosuc Lake, near the Rusty Anchor.

Pittsfield Police say there were actually two people who had fallen through, but both had made it to shore.

While emergency personnel were on the scene, one of the victims went back out onto the ice, against advice of the emergency responders, intending to collect ice-fishing gear they had left behind. That person fell through a second time.

Responders rescued the person, and then, wearing cold-suits, went out and collected the gear.
