Actors Needed for CO Academy

Do you enjoy the great outdoors?  If you do, the DNR Division of Enforcement is offering an excellent opportunity for students and adults/retirees to do some role-playing to enhance the realism of their training scenarios at the 2007 Conservation Officer (CO) Academy.  Pretend you’re a hunter or angler in various real life situations.

This will give new officers in training a better idea of what to expect out in the field.  No formal acting or training experience is needed to qualify.  Those selected to act are eligible for mileage reimbursement and meals.

Actors are needed on Thursdays in February, March, and April, 7:30 AM – 4:30 PM.  Volunteers can role-play one or more times depending on the number of actors needed for a particular day.   Role-playing for scenario days will be held outside so be sure to have adequate clothing for the cold weather.

For an inside look at what this volunteer position really means, read about it in the Nov-Dec 2005 issue of the Minnesota Conservation Volunteer magazine article entitled “Ready for Anything”

To register or for more information, contact Roxie Bouc at the DNR Enforcement Training Center, Camp Ripley (located SW of Brainerd), at 1-800-366-8917 Ext. 2508 or call 320-616-2501 Ext 2508.  Or you may email her at roxie.bouc@dnr.state.mn.us
