Parents had that happen to 'em back in the early 80's at Big Bog state Park on URL. Their late 70's Dodge Aspen came out of park, the boat & car went in the Tamarac River over the top. Insurance company tried to force Dad to try to fix the car but he wasn't havin any of it. Luckily we had some relatives stayin over at the Cutfoot Sioux Inn at that time so they came & got 'em.

lol ,On these hot summer days(already) public boat launch sites is great humor, just bring a cooler of cold beverages, comfy chair sit back and watch the show....,it's amazing some days ,the lack of launch edicate is amazing, then the shete show backing the trailer to launch boat,I swear most shore lander trailers are afraid to get wet,all is good until getting to water edge....then jack knife. always unstrap before attemping to launch your boat, good rule to live by or just ....

Ever since my parents ordeal we've discovered a new tool ;) to use when we launch our boats. It's called the parking brake!! :bonk:

lol truth gunner, another issue most folk's are un aware of,on GM  vehicles rear axel housing has two breather tubes to minumize heat in rear axel housing,so if one backs to far back in to the water to load/launch boat and water line is above rear tire center hub water will flood in to rear axel housing that will create rear axel gear damage over time unless rear axel lube is changed annually, this from my heavy line techs in our shop. Not sure about ford or dodge or imports but worth checking out.

Thanks, Snow.  You learn more on MNO by accident than you do almost anywhere else on purpose.   :happy1:
