Happens every year. This seems like it happened right after they launched. Maybe a mechanical issue with the boat? As more and more people get involved in water activities the call for mandatory life vests will get stronger. The easiest way to stay alive is wearing a life jacket.

i'll never say i'll agree with mandatory wearing of life jacketsor not........but that theory goes right along the lines of mandatory helmets for motorcycles!!!!

With the tether law they are very near requiring lifejackets. My guess is when it happens it will be if you are running your gas motor only. If you are running the shoreline casting or stopped and jigging or corking they wouldn't require them.

We wear our life jackets when up on plane cruising but not when trolling or casting. I would not approve of a mandatory life jacket law. To much of big brother the way it is. It is a tragedy no doubt. But they were free to make the choice.
