Anyone have a holding tank at their cabin?  Curious what it would cost to empty a 2000 gallon holding tank and how often you’d need to do it. Thinking of buying a cabin in WI near Danbury. Typically cabin use,2-3 weekends a month.

Can't help with cost. Our cabin is an outhouse hole. Based on your post if assume no drain field
Thinking a 2000 gallon tank fills rather quickly

Then again if you are buying something already built the county will stick there nose in it.

Even if you have a drain field you should have your tank pumped every 3 years. We just had ours pumped last year and it was $300 up here. Best to call someone in the area and ask. If you are there 2-3 weekends a month you may pump 3 times a summer.

We had ours pumped 3-4 years ago & the septic guy said see you in about 10 years when he left. Generally, there's only 2 of us here & we're here 9-10 months a year. When we rebuilt the new septic was built to accommodate the place being full more often, so our septic is set up for 5 bedrooms. Not the 2 that are normally being used. We have a lift station in the basement to the septic & then another from there to the drain field.
