Host your picture at Photobucket.com and down size them there. Then post the URL from there.

thanks big slick... ya that is one way of doing it.
we are upgrading our site right now and when the new one is out, you won't have any problems attaching them in your post either... however, hosting them somewhere else and then posting a link will always be the best for us since it will keep our bandwidth usage down. :)
If a gun kills people then I can blame a pen for my misspells?

I just went out and registered for an account on photobucket.com, uploaded some pics, and resized them. Trust me, if I can do it, a caveman probably can do it....ha ha.

If you have any ? on how to do this, Woody is a wiz at this stuff, and he is always happy to help out too.

While on Photobucket:

1. Click on: My Album

2. You should see in the middle of page a window that says: Upload to: (your username) Album

3. Click on: Browse link in middle of box. This should open another window with your photos in it that are on your computer. If you don't see any pics in this,  at the top of that new window, change the "LOOK IN" option to "MY PICTURES" or "MY DOCUMENTS"

4. Click on the picture you want to upload in that window, and the file name should now show up right underneath it. Click "OPEN" and this will put that filename into the top of the 3 links on photobucket. If you click on that 1st box, you can change the name of the file before you upload it too photobucket.

5. Click on UPLOAD and the picture will be added to your photobucket gallery.

6. If you want to resize the picture for your AVATAR or a THUMBNAIL, just click on the picture from your album at bottom of page. It opens the picture full size.

7. From here, you can choose the size you want to resize it to by clicking RESIZE above the picture and it walks your through the final steps on photobucket.

To get that pic back onto MNO, follow these last easy steps (compliments of Prof Woody)

1. Start up an account on an image hosting service such as photobucket. (already done)
2. Upload your pictures. (already done)

3. Type up your post here on MNO as normal.
4. On Photobucket copy the IMG Code.
5. Paste the IMG Code to your post.
6. Highlight the IMG Code
7. Click on the "insert image" icon above (2nd row, 2nd from the left)
8. Click "Post" when finished.

Hope this helps. Let me know if you encounter and difficulties and I will see if I can help. Woody showed me how to do this but I am still kind of new to it myself.  8)

Thanks for the info on the additional site (shutterfly.com) Scott. This is another great option for people to try and see which is a better fit for their needs.

icebanger if you look underneath your pic on photobucket.com after you resize it, it will tell you how big the file is also so you know if it small enough to be able to just post it directly to the site or if you need to link in through photobucket with the img code for that pic from photobucket.
