Over Easter weekend, my Dad went downstairs to take our lab for a walk, and the dog had an incident (including a little carpet-wetting) that sounded suspiciously like a seizure to me.  I've monitored carefully since then, and nothing strange or wierd has happened.

This afternoon my wife went back to the kennel to take him for a walk, and according to her  "it was like is legs quit working - he fell over and pushed himself into the weeds sideways".  By the time I got there, the dog was wagging his tail and looking pretty normal.

8 year old chocolate lab.  A bit overweight (but no harm in that - if I'm any indication).

Anyone else had this type of thing crop up?

I had a female Welsh Corgi that was 14 and had similar incidents.. The vet said it was like a minnie stroke... Have you checked the type of food you have been feeding?? The big recall this past month with pet food may have a connection.... QG

My chocolate (Lucy) had a seizure once while under my bed -- convenient location.  Anyway it scared us pretty bad so we took her to the vet and they said to keep and eye on her and note if she has more, how many, how often...She didn't put Lucy on meds for it because once they start taking them, they're not supposed to stop.  So Lucy never had another one and its been close to a year now.  Can't explain why or what or anything but it happens.  Good luck.  Hope your lab is OK.
