Any ideas.  It seemed like winter '05-'06 it was cold related.  Now it doesn't matter.  I can't hit the remote close or the "press the button inside the garage" button.  The door ends up flashing and stopping EVERY time.  Any help would be appreciated!!!!!!!!!

The eyes on the ground on each side are out of adjustment from the vibration. One of them is probaly facing a solid object (ground) try to adjust each one, so they face each other and it should work again, tighten up each screw also.

The door will not close if it thinks something is in the way (kids, car, bike etc...) in this case it is probably the ground.

Crap.  How do I allign them?  How do I know when the infrared is alligned?  It sounds like you know your business.  I had a minor issue with this as a hit and miss issue a year ago, and now it is a regular issue.  The door NEVER closes without the blinking "error" light or me holding down the manual button dwon until the door fully closes.

Still got the owners manual?  If not, look on-line to see if its available to read that way; I've found a few like that.  Another idea is if you don't want the warning deal just disconnect it -- if it will still operate that way.

Good luck.

when you line the infared up  there should be a green light on one of the sensors.  this will let you know when you are aligned .  i hope  you get it worked out .

There is also adjustments on most units that can be adjusted if it an issue of the tracks not being alinged properly, I had this issue and had to make a minor adjustment. The door would go about half way down and then when it got to a cetain point it would go back up.

Thanks for all of the tips guys.  I don't have time to mess with it today, but I will give it a shot tomorrow.

P.S.  MNO just saved me at least $100 I'm guessing.  All of the member tips resulted in...FIXED!  As said by more than one (not that the other possible solution weren't appreciated), but apparently the laser was out of allignment.  I messed with them for a while.  One was green and one yellow.  They both are still the same color, but after several trials, it closes perfectly!  Thanks for all of the help.  I owe you all a beer...ummm...I guess just those that offered tips...I am a poor salesman.   ::cheers::
