Usually don't take that way but a warning for everyone. Buy your bait before you get to Mille Lacs and don't buy it from Portside especially. My brother bought 2 dozen leeches from there and I think if we were lucky we got exactly 12 on the nose with about 6 of the leeches being the size of panfish leeches. It doesn't change there all season. I hate to come down on a specific place but c'mon. I have been fishing that lake forever and I remember when we were younger that was the place to go. Not sure what has changed but I started seeing this about 2002. Sorry Portside but ya gotta fix that!

Besides that I buy my leeches on the way up. For the life of me I can't remember the name. It is on 35e at the Harris exit. Now talk about a fine establishment. Even when they switched owners a year ago (i think) they still come out on top in the bait business. The prices are right and the quality is awesome!!! Never been to a place to match!
