Ely Fishing Report 6-18

Sorry this report is coming in somewhat late, but on top of pump problems at the bait shop, the phones and computer DSL went out for several hours. I must have angered the Gods for something I did this weekend
Smitty's on Snowbank reports 67 degree surface temp, Bass & Trout fishing good. Walleye have been slow (on all lakes) most likely due to the mayfly hatch.
Silver Rapids Lodge on White Iron Lake has seen good Bass fishing, but the Walleye have slowed. Temp, 68 degrees.
Moose Track Adventures  is seeing good Walleye, Bass, and Crappie action on Farm Lake, jigs and leeches working well.
Burntside Lake is beginning to produce some nice Bass and Northern, the Walleye are not on the reefs yet, but quite a few small ones (16-19 inches) being taken in 4-10 feet of water in silty/muddy bays with slip bobbers. Big mayfly hatch in some bays must be affecting their travel to the big parts of the lake. Temp, 69 degrees. Northern being caught in 6-12 feet at this time with plain hooks/minnow with BB split shot the most affective.
