The crappie action on Fish and Boulder Lakes continues to be hot, hot, hot.  The walleyes are biting on Island and Fish lakes in about 13 to 14 feet of water on a jig and a minnow, or lindy rigging.  The muskie action on the St. Louis River, Island and Vermillion Lake has been great.  And the walleye action on Vermillion has been great too. There have been a few salmon in the rivers, but the most action has been up the north shore.

Lake trout season is now closed on Lake Superior.  But a lot of salmon are still being caught.  Chinook and coho have been biting up north by the Knife river. And the walleyes are biting well in the river too, but they are deep.  The crappie fishing has been ok in the river; they have been bigger then average.  They are concentrated in pockets and hard to find, but once you are on them, you’ll be on a nice bite.
