The bro-in-law and I hit the river for a few hours yesterday, from about 3:30 pm til 7:30ish.? Ran into Griz at Frankie's in Chisago City when I popped in to buy crawlers and leeches...good thing too.? He offered up a good tip to look deeper for the 'eyes, so that's in fact where we found them.? 25 feet, give or take.? The channel on the MN side just north of the Hwy. 94 bridge was a good drift for us.? We hit about 8 fish, kept 3, and we FROZE OUR ASSES OFF!!!? Jeez Louise, I can't recall a more miserable day.? We saw exactly one other pair of crazy guys (in a skinny 12 foot aluminum rig!) out there braving the high winds and cold rain.? Great to get out though.? Took a few hours to de-thaw.
Edit: Oh, and spinner/crawler rigs were the ticket.  Picked up one lead-coring a shad rap, otherwise the rest went for the pink blade spinner rigs.

We were on the River today near Hudson, my dad, his friend and I. We only fished from 11am until 5pm, because my dad had plans this evening. We ended up catching 11 Walleyes ranging from 17" to just under 26", everything was caught on Night Crawlers.

Were heading to the same spot tomorrow after the Mothers Day festivities.

My 3 year old son is begging me to take him tomorrow, so if the weather is better, i'll take him for a few hours.

Sounds like a great outing, Pat! ;D  Some beauties in that river, no doubt about that.
You south of Hudson?
