I made the two hour drive to the "dead sea" yesterday for a full day of fishing.  Pulled into Isle around 830am and drove around the south/west side until i got to wigwam bay.  Ice is still anywhere from 8 to 12 inches on the west side.  The crew at Eddy's was checking ice depths and is still waiting to start pulling houses out.  Some ATV size roads plowed at resorts.   Fishing in about 12 - 14 feet of water 1 mile south of Eddy's and 3/4 of a mile out.  Jumbo perch were hitting hard starting at 1 hour before sunst.  You can catch any size perch on waxies and minnows/minnow heads, but the jumbos only wanted a horizontal minnow lure (jigged slowly off the bottom).  No other species seen.  Somewhat surprised, but i have a freezer full of jumbos!
