I am looking to go out somewhere in the north metro area for some good tip-up fishing?  Anyone have any good lakes :mysterymachine:....I don't want to drive too far.  Thought I'd check as you guys always have good information.

Thanks

Twin Lake in Robbinsdale/Brooklyn Center is very good for Pike.  There are actually 3 lakes.  The middle lake just north of Hwy 100 on the north end is excellent.

What lake would anyone suggest for size, not numbers? I used to fish rush but since the slot it is tough to get a meal. Thanks for any ideas.

If you are looking for Big Pike or at least a shot at them I would try WBL ... There are some good ones in there along with alot of eaters
I prefer to eat the little ones and let the big boys swim !

Just to clarify, I am not looking to keep 6+ pound fish, I just do not want to get 1-2 pounders. Thanks again

You can get those out on WBL. I have gotten a some 8+ fish out there and last year a friend pulled 2 15lbs
You will tangle with the the 3-5lbs quite a bit but the big boys are there too

Owasso is also a good choice it has been a while since I have been there though

I have stayed away from WBL.  I have fished Owasso 4 times this year and all I caught was a few crappie and a nice buzz.  I will take you up on WBL this week.
