[Halversons on Crow Lake]

While the temperatures have remained cooler the wind has really started to take its toll on the ice. Throughout the Nestor Falls area Lake of the Woods is now open in most areas and we took the opportunity to go for a little boat ride. Crow Lake has now started to show real progress in beginning to open. With the warmer weather predicted and if the winds stay the same we should see some real progress the next couple days. To alleviate the boredom we took in a little sturgeon fishing on the Rainy River and had a blast.

The photo is of a good freind and guide I work with Peterson. He had tailed the fish for me and I took the photo of him bringing it in the boat. It was caught on Wednesday the last day of sturgeon fishing before the closure. It was caught on the Rainy River below the Manitou Rapids on worms fished off the bottom. Just a blast!!
