I don't know about everyone else, but I am getting the open water fishing itch so bad.  I've already started buying some new lures, line for my reels, which includes the new Crystal Fireline, that I'm very excited to try!!!  I had to go out in the garage and sit in the boat the other night for a bit, until the cold forced my to go back in.  I just can't wait to get back up to the cabin this Spring......am I the only one that is feeling this way???? :'(

I'm still holding my breath waiting for winter. Felt good the last couple days to breath for once. Get in a few deep breaths anyhow.

Wallyechasers3 that's exactly what I did. I went up to Cabela's last Sunday armed with a notebook found a walleye crank guy there to hold my hand and tell me everything he could think of about cranks for walleyes. I bought the Precision Trolling book, 3 Reefrunners, 2 tail dancers and 1000 yards of 10lb. XT. I'm going back for the line counter reel as soon as the right coupon shows up this spring. I get the boat out of storage in 4 weeks.

Oh yes , i have the itch. I see open water all the time. However it has ice around the edges. (just a tease at best) I cant wait till the ice is off. I am looking forward to fishing for the first time since i  moved to this great state. (it has been almost two years)

Well holdemtwice, I don't think you will be disappointed when you are able to get out and enjoy the outdoors of this beautiful state.  I love the hard water, but when I'm able to get the boat out on the water is when I'm in my zone.

As much as I love ice fishing-I hate the cold.  I also don't like the wait for the ice to get thick enough to be safe!  Ice fishing is fun, but unpredictable.  Right now it's a waiting game for me.  Waiting to seal the deal on a boat, then deciding what lake I'm gonna hit first!  I haven't been on Winnie for 2 years now, and I'm antsy about getting back!  Some lakes I haven't been on in eons, or ever: Leech -never, LOW (only once in winter) , URL (2 x winter), Mille Lacs-30 yrs(winter).  So I have a small list started.  I'm thinking of putting names up on a dartboard and closing my eyes and see where it ends up!  All I know is I'm more than ready to get out on softwater! Shortsleeves, sunshine, slight breeze (to keep the skeeters off) ahhhhhhhhh sounds good right now!  ;D
