One summer we did a 3 day trip down the Root River in SE Minnesota. That was a great time. As far as tips I don't know what to say. We had a great time. Almost tipped in some rapids and we lost our our fishing poles in the water. We also ran out of ice which was a bummer. If I think of any tips I will revisit this thread.

With kids and small children i am sure its different... Does anyone use a tracker? I heard alot of outfitters used them, so they can find you or the boat if need be.. Like if your not back when your supposed to be??

Here I thought you had an extremely intellegent dog who owned his own GPS.   :rotflmao:

:rotflmao:SMG... Im a big list guy, but Ive never laughed at one like I did there...even funnier, Everything on there makes sense! :rotflmao: Ya jest need a reeeealy big canoe! :bonk: Heres my best tips, the list could be huge, with all the trips Ive done these two may save life/limb... # 1: When at camp for the night, pull your canoe/boat completely out of the water and secure/tie off to trees, had a storm hit overnight while in nothern Manitoba, waves pulled our canoe off shore,we had it tied to rocks, yet in the morning I saw my canoe bobbing off another island(yes we were on an island)about 3/4 of a mile across the lake, drew straws to see who got to go swim for it,with a paddle in hand.(I drew the long straw!) It was a huge lake, not a cabin or person on it...  #2: When ya pull your food pack into a tree(ya do that I hope!) at camp for the night, put the salt/pepper/spices in with it and not in the vestibule of yer tent to keep em dry...woke up with a big ole bear pushin his nose against the screen of the tent, and he wanted more salt....  :taz: :rotflmao: These are two to live by...no pun intended. :happy1:
