WI DNR lowering bag limits

The Department of Natural Resources is reducing the bag limits for walleye on more than 400 northern Wisconsin lakes.

The reduction comes after the state's bands of Chippewa Indians
said they plan to spear on up to 412 lakes across the northern
third of the state this spring.

They speared on about 280 lakes last year.

The DNR is lowering the bag limit on 324 lakes to two walleye
per day and on 88 lakes to three walleye a day.

The limit on most lakes statewide is five walleye.

Spearing could start this weekend in northwestern Wisconsin,
although it's still too cold and icy in other parts of the north.

Tribes speared 30,700 fish on lakes off reservations last year.

I have a question and I am hoping that someone can answer this. This is a serious question.

First let me say that I respect all other religions, race, gender, ethnic background etc....

But this has boggled the mind forever. It actually started in High School when I took a Native American Culture Class.

If the Natives are supposed to be so spiritual and "in touch" with the land and the wild animals that roam it then why are they the ones that are doing their best to deplete resources like the walleye?? Seriously, they are the ones who always want more and never have enough. I've had enough. Why are the lakes that WE dump so much money into being taken advantage of.

If anyone here is natvie or has a native friend or relative please try and get an answer for me on this one!

I don't care about anything else. I just want an answer to that question. I say that because I have asked it before and they danced so far around the answer that I never did get it.

  I've deleted 3 posts on this thread...  Commercialized rape of our lakes with high intensity lights, outboard motors, etc. for profit?  Kind of seems a little much...
