SteveJ,
Please note, I am not talking about human scent here.  I am talking about human urine.   When it comes to my scent, I usually take precautions to eliminate or prevent spreading my scent.  However, from my experiences, deer are never spooked and are actually courious when encountering human urine.  Now with that in mind, I never tried leaving a "trail" of it as I go to my stand.  :rotflmao:

This fall I bought a full set of scentLoc clothing.  I got a coat, pants and hood.  I usually sprayed my boots hat gloves etc with sent killer.  I had one deer (fawn) pass by down wind without any indication she knew I was there.  However, I placed a ladder stand in a very hard place to hunt. It is in a corner where the wind seems to swirl and change directions.  Deer can approach unseen until very close (35 yards) from a number of directions.  The stand is cramped between three basswoods leaving me limited movement.  While wearing the scentloc clothing, I was busted by unseen deer at least 5 times from this stand.  (I hear snorting and may see a deer leaving in the popples).  So you may say why hunt there?  Well I have another stand about 100 yds from there and over the past couple years, I would always see deer by the new location. They just disapeared and never came by me.  I've hunted this stand 8 times and saw deer (well at least heard them snort when they busted me) every time I was in the stand.  On the day I shot the 8 pointer (see picture in "team straight shooters"), I was busted by three deer that snorted and ran away about 15 minutes prior to the 8 pointer coming by.

well to that i say, this year i went deerless. my brother shot an 8 point as he was trying to keep snot in his nose and said he was really loud it was only 20 yrds away and didnt notice. my other brother just walked in the woods wasnt quiet about it (stepping on sticks...) and had a bad cough and shot his 10 point about 5 minutes later. my dad in the same stand as the last smokes, had diarea and was able to get out of the stand but had to go right there, cut his undies off and used them as tp, climbed back in his stand and 20 min later shot a 10 at 20yrd or so. breaking all these "rules" of deer hunting and they still got nice deer. maybe the deer were being stupid because of the rut? i am a bow hunter and had that not been during the rut we would definatly not have seen those deer. also i am usually the one that gets the big one or sees the most in the woods. my dad especially just seems to be a lucky guy in my book.

my words to you, if what your doing works, dont quit
my wife said it.... im OFFICIALLY ADDICTED to MNO!!
