Had an awesome day in the woods today! 40 degrees and sunny!! Found a few sheds as well. It was my first time out this year so I am pretty pumped about that!

Just this afternoon I saw a 10 and 8 point standing on the edge of a woodline and both had full racks.  Walked 4 miles in the woods on Monday and did not find a single shed.

this is true. Buddy of mine stoped by. One that I never see. Says you got to see this he was down at the mn river bottoms in Bloom by ceader ave. Witch is right by my house. Found a shead WITH head, jaw, teeth and 1/2 of the spine. All the meat was eaten off only a small peace of hide between the huge 8 point rack! Cougar/mountan lion track were all over the place. Is that cool or what.

Funny thing last night on my way home from picking my truck up from the shop I drive by the field I saw the ten and eight and they are back out there, except for this time the ten is only a 5!!  I am heading out right now too see if I can locate the left side that dropped.  Will report back later.

Well I walked three ridges and found nothing.  I searched everywhere on those three.  There is a ton of deer sign, but no antlers that I could find.  I spent about 3 hours looking.

I have found a couple so far :happy1:  Both were found in Southern Iowa.

This one was found Jan 29th. 53.5 inches.

This one was found on Feb 17th, but obviously had been dropped awhile back due to the heavy chewing on the main beam and G2.  It was a nice antler scoring around 75 inches.

Looks better displayed brow tine up!

Have not been out this year yet just for that. I have looked around when I have been out coyote hunting but have not found any.
If today was perfect. There would be no need for tomorrow.

I found another 5 down in Iowa the last two days, for a total of 8 so far.

A friend of mine found this incredible 200 inch set on his land a couple days back also.  Luckily he beat the squirrels to these guys!

Found one side of a small fork today.  Nothing special but my first one ever.  I also found 2 dead deer, one of which was a decent buck and someone else had already sawed the antlers off.

The search continues  :dancinred:

When I tell people I am going shed hunting I always get weird looks, "your going where?". My mom looked at me like I was an idiot, "So, your going out in the woods to look for sheds huh........" No Mom..I'm not looking for sheds, she thinks I am actually looking for a shed or multiple sheds!

Look I found One!!

Anyways, when it comes to shed hunting it never ceases to amaze me how excited I get when I do find one. The other day I found a nice shed and was jumping up and down like a little kid in a candy store. Its fun that something like this can give a person so much excitement. Like I told my cousin last week, we are out here for hours and hours scouring the earth looking for these things. We look so hard that our eyes hurt and I get a headache, maybe I need glasses, but then once you find one its like an explosion of excitement that is like nothing else.

Good times...get out there and keep looking and when you do finally find something you'll be hooked for life!

I found my 9th antler on Wednesday in a small patch of woods behind a cemetary. No chews and full wax ring on this one.

I found a great April fools on the 1st.  I came across this nice looking antler sticking out of the creek bed.

Then after some digging and tugging the rest of this 160 inch monster surfaced!  Looked to have been dead a couple years with some heavy chewing, but mostly intact! 22" Mains and 12" G2's.

That is an awesome find jkcmj This time of year creek crossings are about the only place to find sheds that have not been chewed. To be able to get what you found is extremely rare. I bet it will not happen again in your lifetime.
