Lee, that is the best comeback you have?  I guess I am done then because that was terrible.  I only like to talk smack with someone who can dish it back.  I thought you were up to the task, but I guess I was right, you stink at it. :sorry:

General,

I my not be as good with the trash talk as  :queen2: but that's a tall order to fill.

You better just keep looking in your rear view mirror since you won't want to miss seeing The Wanderers as we whiz past you in The Challenge. Big fish talk while  :bs: walks and that's why you will just walk away in the end my friend.

So Lee, What was the dust bowl like?

 :coffee: Per your request:

The Dust Bowl of the 1930s lasted about a decade. Its primary area of impact was on the southern Plains. The northern Plains were not so badly effected, but nonetheless, the drought, windblown dust and agricultural decline were no strangers to the north. In fact the agricultural devastation helped to lengthen the Depression whose effects were felt worldwide. The movement of people on the Plains was also profound.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
As John Steinbeck wrote in his 1939 novel The Grapes of Wrath:
"And then the dispossessed were drawn west- from Kansas, Oklahoma, Texas, New Mexico; from Nevada and Arkansas, families, tribes, dusted out, tractored out. Car-loads, caravans, homeless and hungry; twenty thousand and fifty thousand and a hundred thousand and two hundred thousand. They streamed over the mountains, hungry and restless - restless as ants, scurrying to find work to do - to lift, to push, to pull, to pick, to cut - anything, any burden to bear, for food. The kids are hungry. We got no place to live. Like ants scurrying for work, for food, and most of all for land."

Poor agricultural practices and years of sustained drought caused the Dust Bowl. Plains grasslands had been deeply plowed and planted to wheat. During the years when there was adequate rainfall, the land produced bountiful crops. But as the droughts of the early 1930s deepened, the farmers kept plowing and planting and nothing would grow. The ground cover that held the soil in place was gone. The Plains winds whipped across the fields raising billowing clouds of dust to the skys. The skys could darken for days, and even the most well sealed homes could have a thick layer of dust on furniture. In some places the dust would drift like snow, covering farmsteads.

JD,

Look young fella! You'll find out for yourself what the dust bowl was really like when "The Wanderers" leaves your team (the what's a names?) standing in the dust on our way to the championship.

If I'm not mistaken team (what's a names) has already been experiencing the effects of "The Dust Bowl" as their ability to catch big fish has dried up recently. :rotflmao:

                              Missing In Action :help:

After a slow start Borgie's Raiders has recently made a substantial move in the ranking. This is a period when all the teams troops need to rally together and pitch in on the smack board as mentioned on a prior post by The King Of Smack "The General"  :banghead:

It seems that Borgie's Raiders have fallen short in this area. If we expect to advance to the next level in this competition it will take everyone's extensive efforts. This won't happen when we have teammates missing in action or going on furlough. With less than 90 days to go It's time to make our move both on the smack thread and the fish board.

PS.
This is just a roomer, but Lee heard that there may also be an award for the team with the best smack talk.  :whistling:

Great job on the upgrades Borgie.  I've been out on the lake a few times and can't seem to catch anything larger than what we have.  Lots of time left, the hunt for the big one continues.

I'm going to have Lee take me out to try for some pike in Sept/Oct even though our area lake isn't known for big pike there are some there. I'll do my best to pay my dues on the water since the championship is well within reach for our Raiders.

Keep on truckin  :mysterymachine: Johnnie, and we'll pull this one out yet. I've already got a side bet with the old man on who's team finishes on top.  :dancinred:

Not sounding good at all partner. Maybe it can get fixed and you'll catch another 41 inch Northern :fishing2: like last year. That would put us in first place with room to spare. :toast:

I kind of like that.  I'm not sure why my teammates are afraid to post a little smack.........especially when The King has their backs.

I kinda figured you'd let that go to your head. After all the verbal beatings I've given you  training-087 I was thinkin I owed you one and you took it hook line and sinker :fishing2: . That's what happens when a person is predictable. :oops1: bed time now since I've got to get up at 2:15 am for a guide trip in the morning.

Actually you are pretty good at the smack talk, but it still remains to be seen who the real King Of Smack is. :king:
