 :sorry:

Just for the record, were not The Happy Wanderers. We could be The Happy Wanderers if we could just pick up another 3/4 inch in the standings. However, it's not as easy as it sounds. Then I turn around and see this team, The Yets climbing from out of the ashes to steal 3rd place. We'll as far as I'm concerned they are Not Yets until they pass The Wanderers in the standings and that ain't happened Yet.

Well we will see little smackdown man wandering team. I like what I am seeing with the Y(J)ets. We have put together a three pronged attack that is practically guaranteed to bury the team that is wondering and wandering and the team with a name that is really just a nubmeber. (OK I'm a little off on my spelling buty the Jets don't look back.)

Well leech lake was a very good time.  I figured I caught over 50 walleyes "not one was an upgrade".  Sorry I let you down Team.  I did catch a northern that wold ave been a 1/2 inch upgrade but it was 12:00 AM, fish tangled in the net along with the rapala.  I just did a quick measure and wanted to get her back in the water being everything else took so long.  The night fishing was spectacular.  Fishing during the day sucked so I spent that catching perch with the kids.  I'll get some photos of the trip up soon.  I'm officially packing in the challenge.  I was drawn for Ripley and time to get ready for hunting.  Good luck to the rest of you...........even to the old farts. :happy1:

General,

On behalf of the old farts contingency it's been a pleasure kicking your butt again this year. It's understandable that an individual such as yourself with multiple outdoor interests would surrender to the call of the wild when nature beckons.

I'm putting you on notice now as to the need for your continued contributions on the smackdown thread. Since your ability to stimulate controversy is unparalleled along with a select group of esteemed trouble makers we expect to continue to hear from you.

You will continue to be remembered just as the many other Fallen Generals before you:

General Rommal
General Custer
General Lee
General Motors

PS. Good luck to the rest of your team since you have carried them as far as you could and good hunting.

We salute another fallen general!

Thanks Lee,

I will never quit the smackdown.  Who else is going to put the tennis balls on the bottom of your walker for you to even get in your boat?

Help BB reel in fish that are larger then the minnow he had on the end of his hook to begin with?  I'm always just a phone call away for you guys.

Just to clarify a few things.
1. The Vikings did not practically win any Super Bowls. They got crushed 4 times.

2. I can't say for sure but I'm guessing you my friend have never practically won the lottery. Practically winning would be like getting 4 out of 5 - (or 5 out of 6) whatever it is. And then I think you win some pretty big dough - but you still would be a long way from winning the lottery.

3. The Jets on the other hand are .5" from a tie for second with the peppy wanderers. And .75" from a tie with Team Nine from Outer Space. We are knocking on the door baby and unlikely to be distracted by herbivores and things that fly.

4. The General probably practically will win the war.

5. Nice walker.

Hey Lee, that's also nice of BB to let you hold on to his shoulder so you don't need the walker or maybe you took your blue pill before you left home. ;D

Somehow this thread has gotten way off track from intended subject it was meant to be used for. Actually it does seem to be getting a lot of hits for some reason as we poke fun at each other. As an MNO Pro Staff I figure it's time I step in and redirect this topic back to Fishing Smackdown subjects.

So, as I see it we have a real logjam at the top of tournament board and it's going to be a real heartbreaker for the teams that wind up in 2nd and third place. Since The Wonderers will wind up in the top position, I was figuring on setting up a crises center for those having suffered such a tragic blow. 1 800 926-337377 or
1 800 Wanderers.

By the way, now that we have this smackdown thread back on the straight and narrow sticking to Fishing Smack Talk I would like to congratulate the general on his official retirement relating to this years fish entries. I'm also glad to see by the photo his wife sent in that he's gotten that other problem fixed.

Ok Lee I'll let you slide on that.  I was laughing my arse off on that one.  Nice how you talk about keeping the thread on topic and then go off into left field for that last jab.  I'll let you have that for now but it won't be the last you've heard of me on topic or not.  I do understand you giving up and realizing you've been beat by the King of smack.   :sorry: if I hurt your feelings.

Well I am done hanging off the roof here at the cabin and repairs have been made.  :happy1:  I am now ready to reenter the Challenge here. Having to take a month off has given a few of you a chance to post some fish and get  yourself comfortable in the standings. Although I still have siding to do I figure I can work in the morning and then be fishing afternoons. This of course means the wife being happy to have a roof over her head will add nothing to the honey do list making fishing a priority for the last 6 weeks of the Challenge. I might even go walleye fishing !   :rotflmao: You have no idea the challenge that alone presents to a bass fishermen. As for the teams ahead of me I will be working my way through you all to the top spot, General I hope you are not really done as you still have a chance at 10th   :doah: and Hunterdown you and I have a date later this month so I can show you how to catch a green carp, on purpose! :blues brothers:  My good friend Lee what can I say ..   :whistling: Just thank you for keeping second place warm, I'll be passing you here soon...

The "northern half" of the state is where all the mountains (hills) are. Y is it that when Hunterdown and bobby "go fishing" noone brings a boat or tackle? They only bring their rods?   :moon:

Yea, I guess that was funny....well, maybe a little....maybe not.....

But, ya see, me and Bobby are old school...when we have a "date" to go fishing...We go fishing for fish.

In our day, friends do stuff together...just to spend time, shoot the sh*t and catch up on old times while fishing...or hunting...

Nowa days....you young pups bring your "friends with benefits" along...and don't catch any fish.
Don't know what you do in your boat....and don't wanna!

What drummer does in his boat....well, that's up to him.
Just don't drag us into your little world. Cause, if what I think your doing in your boat....You ain't NEVER going fish'in with me!

I am man enough to not have a problem having a date to go fishing. You how ever need to do some growing up.  :coffee: or are maybe worried about your own manhood.  :moon:

Yep, that's what I figured.....

Now that, that is cleared up.....Can we get back to what this thread was intended for?

Still a few more weeks left of the challenge, if you haven't posted any fish lately (or not at all) Now is the time! Before to long, it will be over, and you'll have to wait till next year.

Looks like a few more warm days and then we are going to see some fall weather, I think the fish are confused at the nice weather. I do know the landings are empty and not many fishermen on the water now. To bad, right time right place and you can put some good fish in the boat this time of the year. Maybe Drummer can send me up some of them fish he catches, just the right size for bait up here!
