Lee, You know when it says something like "someone has posted while you were typing" or something like that you should really read it before you post or make sure you read all the posts before you post.   :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao: :rotflmao:

Nice save on that one Lee.  Too bad you weren't able to save your fishing season with the same grace.......guess there's always next year.......

Lee, Thanks for giving me some fun and a challenge in the smackdown thread.
Hey, I guess they're right. Senior citizens, although slow and dangerous behind the wheel, can still serve a purpose.

Thanks General,

It's always fun trading barbs with you and the rest of the gang on here. Most times I try to pinch down the barbs, but every once and a while I forget to pinch the barb down and someone gets snagged a little to hard.
Anyhow, Borgie and I decided not to enter our pike from today in hopes of some bigger than today's snakes in the photo below.

Lee, for future reference......no need to ever pinch the barbs on my account.  I can handle it and it would probably make me laugh even harder.  Might even shoot some beer out my nose if the barbs are sharp enough.  Good luck if you make it out tomorrow fishing.  Thanks to all for the good laughs.  Hope no one took anything personal.

Wow Lee. Looks like you and Borgie lucked into some exceptional weather today. It's almost as if you guys stumbled into that long lost July. I thought it might still be out there hovering around somewhere. Maybe it will find it's way back here after a couple more snowfalls this week.

 :oops1:

Thanks for the heads up Doug. I must have gotten my photos mixed up. Now let me see.............where the heck did I put those photos from yesterday ........... yesterday's photos?. No matter anyhow since some of you seem to have gotten The General idea. There I go again mentioning The General :doah:. Actually the whole thing about the pictures was The General's idea.

It's good to have friends, but sometimes they give you bad advise ;)

Looks like time to leave and it's been raining slightly with fog and temps starting to rise. Possible thunder storms in the am on Lake Geneva. Sounds like ripe conditions according to the fishing manual, but who reads books :bonk: Time to leave for the lake. :fishing:

Generally speaking for the general populus.....we hope you have a good day on the water!

But, I wouldn't go out on a day like today, generally, but, you seem to have your mind set.

How would you fish on a day like today.....generally?   :whistling:

Sitting here on the shores of Lake Iwanttobethere and watching leaves sailing across the landscape looking like they are being thrown by college Frisbee players. Falling rain and small white caps on the water. Waiting for it to change to snow and looking out hoping I don't see Lee in his boat fishing in this. Better that he and Borgie be sitting in a local dinner sipping hot cider and having some pie.  :coffee:

 :reporter;

We'll, I guess it's time to fess up and report yesterday's fishing outing results. It was raining on the way to the lake and only misting when I arrived. The lake was like glass with solid clouds. I put my raingear on and the jacket zipper got stuck half way up and wouldn't budge up or down. Water temp was 54.1 degrees and the lake had begun turn over with dead weeds floating on the surface.

I trolled for 6.5 hours with only 2 bumps and one pike on for 3 whole cranks of the reel. The sun came out after 2 hrs and the air temp hit 63 degrees. Decided to cash it in at 2:30 pm so I could beat the rush hour traffic going home. Lake Geneva was in full color and I was sorry that I didn't take some photos.

Things aren't looking to good with bad weather that hit my area now and time moving faster than I am. It's a 3 hour ride round trip and the fishing has been way below average this Summer/Fall. I may give it one more shot, but it's not looking good.

Light winds with a high of 48 and cloudy. Sounds like a plan to me, but you should have left earlier since they were really biting earlier. Hay, that's a fishing-isms

Please don't pass me in the standings because I had to sign a contract with  :queen: Borgie saying I'd split all my prizes with her if I landed in 1st or 2nd place. Not to mention the second mortgage on the house and the new baby.

Well I went out yesterday to Minnetonka. Bena and the Jets just needs to pick up .25" I believe to tie for second. Fished for walleyes from about 8:30am to about 2:30pm with zero success. Nothing. The place was crawling with muskie guys, and a few walleye guys.

One boat went by and it looked like they were trolling with bowling pins. They stopped and one of them reeled up his line - pulled in a big fish and I realized it was his bait. A two foot long sucker.

We fished for another hour - A.D.D. fishing - with spinnerbaits and caught 2, 10" bass. This fall fishing has been a struggle for me. Maybe Hunterdown will take me under his wing. Or maybe I need some of those baits that the General endorses.

:happy1: We (The Wanderers) haven't won the title yet HD, but your concession speech was quite elegant non the less.

Glad to see you went out in style HD. That was some day you had out there on your last run. As for Doug and his crew, I'll have to give you credit for still giving it at shot right down to the wire. That 1/4 inch must be tearing your gut up when you've worked so hard to get so close and Mother Nature is telling you to pack it in for the year. Now Bobby had made a nice surprise surge to regain his dignity and go down fighting. Just remember my friend that you will always be an MNO Fishing Champion and no one will ever be able to take that away from you.

As for The Wanderers it looks like were not going to experience the thrill of victory this time round. I'm still determined to give it one last shot this week against all odds. Unfortunately this has been the worst Summer/Fall in the history of Lake Geneva that I can remember and that goes back to the mid 70's. From what I'm hearing the fishing has be tuff all over the Midwest this year with few exceptions.

Thanks again this year to The General for your strong encouragement in the challenge Smackdown thread. Even though your team had kind of fell to the wayside you were always there to give a boost to others weather they needed it or not. I guess, because that's just the kind of guy you are.

"It ain't over till it's over" As soon as my check reaches the judges I'll find out if my application for a Fishing Challenge extension will be honored. Sorry guys, but I was born and raised in Chicago :blues brothers: and that's the way we do things down there.

** If you think you can, you can. If you think you can't - You're right!

Still an outside chance for Borgie :queen: to pull back into 4th place with a decent northern. Even though I've been beating the Dead Sea the last couple times out Borgie wants take a last shot at it. To think! She never even fished before she met me back in the olden days.

Hang on you guys that put your boats away for the year cuz Borgie's back in town and she's on a mission. I just hope I can get her up in the morning since she slept till 11:00 am today.

The race is still on and we're in it till the finish line  :toast:

Well tension is mounting here, A few teams I have heard are still going to try and make a final push for upgrades in the standings. A few boats are going to get wet this last week of the Challenge. I am waiting to see if there will be some last minute posting of fish. Always the chance that someone is holding out till the last moment hoping to make a big splash. I guess we won't know till the Challenge official ends at midnight on Halloween, how fitting.
