If you could fish only one body of water for the rest of your life what would it be?



Mississippi River Pool 4 for me.. Because of the diversity of species and the quantity of species that are in the river. Lots of opportunity's to target different kinds of fish!

That's a tuff one, But for me it's Leech Lk.  Been fishing their for 30 year's or so
man I'm getting old. If I have a second choice to fish as some of you know I do some
work for a resort on LOTW, That's my other choice

Pool 4 is up there but I feel its to easy find and catch fish there. Its awesome don't get me wrong but I like challenges.

Ohh a cocky one 

I would choose Mille Lacs. For oh so many reason.

1: We have a place on th elake

2: I like the people.

3: I love the walleyes

4: I want to catch one of those giant muskies I see so often.

5: Smallies are fun to catch and man they are huge ones!

6: Crappies are awesome

7: Sunfish, if found are gigantic!

8: It has that big lake feel but it also has that small lake atmosphere as well.

Na I'm not cocky! lol If I had to pick one it would be a lake its more of a challenge. Plus I hate the crowds at the river! I really want to go to Mille Lacs, but for now lets sat my choice is Lake of the Woods.  :fishing2:

I like all of the lakes mentioned.  I only fished Rainy once and had a house boat along with my boat but dang that was fun.  Caught lots of fish too.  Really have to watch the lower unit on the motor that is for sure though.

General... We found out about the lower unit and sunken rocks on Rainy last fall... Talk about a pain in the ass. Our trolling motor died and were stuck out there an extra few days before another boat found us. Ill post  up pictures if I can find em, should be a dumbie board on here for stupid stuff we do on accident/purpose.

I really love Lake Vermillion.... but Woody's lake sounds even nicer,(That one could be one or many BWCA lakes...there's some reeeaaaly nice ones there!)  & yeah, I couldnt agree more, Lake Iwantobethere sounds too good to be true, but Ive been trying to find it for years and have not yet found it....

In almost 50 years of fishing, I have fished almost every lake and river that's worth fishing in Minnesota.  After all of that I would be happy just to fish on Lake Vermilion for the rest of my life.

There isn't (in my opinion) a better drive to distination any place in the free world. Quality fishing for a number of trophy species including "World Class"
Muskie and Smallmouth bass.

Excellent Pike and Walleye and you can still fish all by yourself if you want to, even on a busy weekend.  The pressure has in recent years increased a bit.  I
seldome even notice it during the week.  It's a lake where on any cast, you have a real solid chance to catch the biggest fish of your life, in four diffent species.

That is pretty hard to beat if you ask me.

Ya, my vote goes for Lake Iwanttobethere also. Because fishing is not all about fish. Quiet, and peaceful rich in memories, crackling fires and soaring eagles. Soft warm summer breezes and sunsets that take your breath away. Bluegills nibbling at feet dangling over well worn wooded docks and yellow bait buckets that never seem to go empty tied off to the stern of a rented resort row boat. Sounds of a lawn mower being pushed by someone else. The lapping and slapping of water against the pier of a boat house and the sight of a red and white bobber slowing going down.

No bars on the cell phone and just the wavering in and out sounds of a baseball game on A M radio at dusk. A meal of fried tatters and onions with crispy golden brown walleye and some beans bubbling in a pot. Maybe a beer so cold that you can't hold the can in your bare hand. A Kodak moment of a fish caught early in the day and let go to swim another day. A place where time is counted not in minutes or hours but by sunrises and afternoon naps and kids who want you to come and play.

Your Lake Iwanttobethere is always just a little bit down the road aways.
