No need for fingerprints to cross the border.  No need for fingerprints to raise a child.  No need for fingerprints to get a driver license (yet).  There needs to be common sense gun legislation.  This ain't it.  Just for argument sake, if we were ever at war and an enemy occupied all or part of America would you want a central location or source that discloses names and addresses of every gun owner?  Yikes.

Dave, thats always been the one that weirds me out... for the most part, the police already know who is buying firearms... its the criminals that arent disclosing were and how they get theirs... so of what purpose is it for legal gun owners to all be in a data base/public information?   There is nothing good that can come from that except to get taxed, or to be singled out for what ever reason...  If a crime is commited with a legal firearm, those currently can be traced to the owner, until they are sold OR stolen.... maybe the powers that be should concentrate on what happens to guns when they are obtained illegally...and put the hurt on people that use firearms illegally.... instead of us legit gun owners.... just an Idea....   When the government gets the firearms from all the "good guys"  the hoods and bangers will still have theirs... then what kind of legislation is going to get the weapons out of their hands?!!!     What the are these morons thinking?
