Sunfish regulations on Pimushe Lake discussed Oct. 8

Anglers who fish Beltrami County’s Pimushe Lake will have the chance to discuss that lake’s experimental sunfish-regulation during a public meeting at 7 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 8, at the Northwest Technical College, 905 Grant Ave. S.E., Bemidji.

DNR Fish & Wildlife staff is seeking public comment on whether to retain, extend, modify or remove an experimental regulation that places a 10-fish limit on sunfish. Staff will present evaluation data on the existing regulation, which has been in place since 2003 and is set to expire in March 2010.

Those unable to attend the meeting may request a summary of evaluation results from Gary Barnard, DNR Area Fisheries Office, 2114 Bemidji Ave., Bemidji, MN 56601. Written comments must be submitted by Monday, Oct. 19. Comments may also be submitted via e-mail to gary.barnard@state.mn.us.
